Our society - called "GMS e.V." for short - is dedicated to medical and scientific basic research and applied research on minerals and trace elements in the fields of diagnostics and therapy. This also includes their role in ecology and nutrition. These goals are achieved by promoting research projects, scientific congresses, issuing scientific publications, public relations and maintaining relations with other professional associations.
An association works according to a statute, which roughly defines the goals and purpose of the association's work:
The "Promotion by the Society [GMS e.V.] shall be directed towards medical and scientific basic research and applied research on minerals and trace elements in the fields of diagnostics and therapy. This also includes their role in ecology and nutrition". (from the statutes of GMS e.V. 2009)
If you want to support these efforts actively or passively, this would certainly be a reason to consider a membership with us.
Our members are scientists, veterinarians and medical doctors, employees of federal institutions or company employees.
They all have their individual points of contact with the topic of "minerals and trace elements", but together we are working on an objective scientific presentation of this topic to the public and a networking of the German-speaking community in order to jointly provide the topic with the appropriate presence in the media and research. Together, we also stand up against unobjective and false propaganda, which is widespread in the form of both a strict rejection and an unconditional affirmation, especially in the supplementation sector.
We want to inform objectively.
We want to provide independent advice.
We support through networking.
Membership and active association work offers you the opportunity to find a platform for discussion and opinion-forming with us. Get involved in the online editorial team, identify relevant professional articles and discuss them with your club colleagues.
Ultimately, you can actively participate in or initiate many current and future activities of the society.
